Basketball Recap: Noah Shy Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Mundy's Mill + How To Watch

Forest Park hadn't done well against Mundy's Mill recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-45 victory over the Tigers. The score was all tied up 19-19 at the break, but the Panthers were the better team in the second half.

Forest Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Noah Shy led the charge by putting up 15 points and three steals. Those three steals gave Shy a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Green, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards.

Mundy's Mill's loss came despite strong showings from Collen Woods and Christopher Johnson. Woods shot 50% from the field en route to 13 points, while Johnson went 5-for-7 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jayden Hickman, who posted seven points.

The win made it two in a row for Forest Park and bumps their season record up to 3-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points over those games. As for Mundy's Mill, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Forest Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 76-70 loss against Banneker on the 22nd. As for Mundy's Mill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-57 defeat against Riverdale on the 20th.
