Football Game Preview: Calamus-Wheatland Warriors vs. Easton Valley

Calamus-Wheatland hasn't had much luck against Easton Valley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Warriors will square off against Easton Valley at 7:00 p.m. Calamus-Wheatland has given up an average of 47.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Calamus-Wheatland came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt a 78-6 loss at the hands of Edgewood-Colesburg. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Vikings are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, Easton Valley didn't have too much trouble with Central on Friday as they won 52-36. The victory continues a trend for Easton Valley in their matchups with Central: they've now won four in a row.

Easton Valley's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Calamus-Wheatland, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Things could have been worse for Calamus-Wheatland, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 42-27 loss to Easton Valley in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
