Soccer Recap: St. Thomas Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against South St. Paul on Thursday, St. Thomas Academy came back down to earth. The Cadets fell just short of the Benilde-St. Margaret's Red Knights by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, St. Thomas Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota soccer rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Benilde-St. Margaret's are ranked 23rd).

St. Thomas Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7-2. As for Benilde-St. Margaret's, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Thomas Academy will welcome Hastings at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Benilde-St. Margaret's, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jefferson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
