Baseball Recap: Elizabeth Victorious

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Wednesday. Elizabeth had just enough and edged out Jordan 8-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for Elizabeth.

Carlos Esparza was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. Esparza is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least two every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Carmona, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

The victory got Elizabeth back to even at 2-2. As for Jordan, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elizabeth will take on Torres at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Torres' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Elizabeth's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Jordan, they will face off against Crenshaw at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The contest will give Jordan their first taste of in-conference action this season.
