Fallston came tearing into Wednesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Aberdeen Eagles with a sharp 17-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 22-0 on Wednesday.

Alex McDougall was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Marmen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Mary Pfaff, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Fallston's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Aberdeen, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Fallston is set to face off against their familiar foe Patterson Mill at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 2.6, Patterson Mill 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Aberdeen will challenge rival Elkton at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
