League recap: Burbank wins, gets boost in standings

Burbank was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to third in Pacific. Earlier in the week, the Bulldogs defeated Bell Gardens 33-14.

Crescenta Valley scaled the state rankings by moving to 503 from 607 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Falcons climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Verdugo Hills 54-20.

Crescenta Valley's dynamic duo of Brian Gadsby and Connor Van Ginkel proved tough for the Dons to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gadsby threw for 199 yards and 6 touchdowns and Van Ginkel had 72 yards receiving. Ben Rees helped Crescenta Valley's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 52 yards.

Paul Schilling's team's dynamic duo of Gadsby and Van Ginkel proved to be unstoppable against Verdugo Hills, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Daniel Jung was a beast in the backfield as Glendale beat San Gabriel.

Van Ginkel was the best wideout in the league this week as the Falcons topped Chad Runnels' team.

Jung was the best running back in Pacific this week. He ran for 220 yards on 13 carries as the Nitros beat the Dons. Teammate Luis Ruiz added to the ground attack by rushing for 76 yards.

Gadsby put up the best numbers in passing as the Falcons beat Verdugo Hills.

6-foot-3 quarterback Dejon Williams of Muir is the league leader in passing yards this season with 375. He has also thrown 3 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Van Ginkel. The Crescenta Valley star has 4 catches for 72 yards.

Glendale took down the Matadors 41-3 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jung caught 1 passes for 62 yards in the win.
