Softball Recap: Appomattox County Snags Tenth Victory in Last 11 Games

Appomattox County put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Chatham Cavaliers as they made off with a 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Nobody will forget Chloe Vaughan's heroic performance anytime soon (especially Chatham's batters): she turned in a perfect game. Vaughan has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Karly Jenkins was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Paisley Mann, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Appomattox County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Appomattox County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Chatham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.
