Basketball Game Preview: DeSoto Dragons vs. Sullivan Eagles

The DeSoto Dragons will head out to take on the Sullivan Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for DeSoto and eight for Sullivan dating back to last season.

DeSoto lost 67-47 to St. Vincent on Monday.

Meanwhile, Sullivan scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 59-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Warrenton. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 475th, while the Warriors are ranked 204th).

Sullivan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for DeSoto, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

DeSoto won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January of 2024, slipping by Sullivan 41-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for DeSoto since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
