Yough waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 16-12 win over the Frazier Commodores. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

John Steban and Jake Williams did most of the damage at the plate: Steban went a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Williams went a perfect 5-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Williams also snagged a stolen base, marking his first of the season. Nate Bell was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Yough kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive games.

Yough's record is now 6-2. As for Frazier, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yough will host Mt. Pleasant at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Cougars' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Frazier, they will be playing at home against Monessen at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
