Volleyball Recap: Wiregrass Ranch's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three + How To Watch

Wiregrass Ranch had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in September.

Wiregrass Ranch had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-19.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wiregrass Ranch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tanner Henderson, who had 31 digs. Those 31 digs gave Henderson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Spearin, who had 19 assists and 15 digs.

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sabrina DeMarco, who had 14 assists and eight digs, and Alyna Acosta, who had 12 digs. DeMarco is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Wiregrass Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Looking ahead, Wiregrass Ranch will be playing in front of their home fans against Wharton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, they will host Sports Leadership & Management at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
