Baseball Game Preview: Gardner-South Wilmington Panthers vs. Beecher Bobcats

Gardner-South Wilmington hasn't had much luck against Beecher recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Bobcats at 4:30 p.m.

Gardner-South Wilmington made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Clifton Central, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers fell just short of the Comets by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gardner-South Wilmington saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Hampson, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Beecher got the win against Reed-Custer on Wednesday by a conclusive 9-2.

Gardner-South Wilmington's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Beecher, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Gardner-South Wilmington might still be hurting after the 15-3 defeat they got from Beecher in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
