Basketball Recap: Bishop Gorman Piles Up the Points Against Cross Roads

Bishop Gorman came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 83-25 win over the Cross Roads Bobcats. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Bishop Gorman was led to victory by Jaylon Miles and Ryan Richbourg. Miles dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten steals, while Richbourg went 7 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points along with seven boards and three steals. Richbourg's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ej Coppock, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 16 points.

Bishop Gorman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February.

Bishop Gorman is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Cross Roads, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Bishop Gorman and Grace Community will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Grace Community knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Bishop Gorman likes a good challenge. As for Cross Roads, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cross Roads Bobcats face off against the Neches Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on December 28th.
