Hobbs is 9-1 against Carlsbad since November of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m.

Hobbs managed to slip by Clovis the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Wildcats on Thursday.

Hobbs was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-23, 25-18.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Carlsbad, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past Roswell 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cavemen/Cavegirls have posted since October 1, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Carlsbad got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 16-25, 25-23, 20-25, 15-12.

Carlsbad's win bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Hobbs, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.
