Oak Hills is a perfect 10-0 against Serrano since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Diamondbacks at 3:15 p.m. Serrano took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Oak Hills, who comes in off a win.
Oak Hills is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 14-8 margin over Burroughs on Tuesday. The Bulldogs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 22nd.
CARSYN LEON tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.
On the hitting side, SIENNA GARCIA and KAYLA CAZAREZ did most of the damage at the plate: GARCIA went 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and two RBI, while CAZAREZ scored three runs while going 5-for-4. Those three runs gave CAZAREZ a new career-high. Another player making a difference was ANAYA TULA, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Oak Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Serrano scored first but ultimately less than Sultana in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against the Sultans, falling 15-5. The Diamondbacks haven't had much luck with the Sultans recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Jamie Motley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Ramirez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
The win made it two in a row for Oak Hills and bumps their season record up to 5-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Serrano, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Oak Hills hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .354. However, it's not like Serrano struggles in that department as they've averaged .462. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Oak Hills took their win against Serrano in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-0 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Diamondbacks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
