Softball Recap: Chaska Takes a Loss

New Prague hit Chaska with a four-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hawks fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 6-4. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 7-6.

Ellie Scott made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Chaska has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for New Prague, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3.

Coming up, Chaska is taking a road trip to challenge Chanhassen at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks are facing the Storm at the right time seeing as the Storm are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for New Prague, they will host St. Louis Park at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Orioles have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
