Volleyball Recap: Georgetown Visitation Prep Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with the Academy of the Holy Cross

Georgetown Visitation Prep is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of The Academy of the Holy Cross. The Cubs fell 2-0 to the Tartans. The Cubs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tartans from their previous meeting back in October of 2015.

The Academy of the Holy Cross can attribute much of their success to Kate Bickel, who had 13 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Bickel has posted over her last nine matchups. Trinity Rowles also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Georgetown Visitation Prep's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for The Academy of the Holy Cross, the win keeps them at an undefeated 20-0.

Looking ahead, Georgetown Visitation Prep will take on St. Andrew's Episcopal at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for The Academy of the Holy Cross, they have already played their next contest, a 1-1 draw against Flint Hill on the 11th.
