Softball Recap: Laguna Creek Wins Going Away Against Nevada Union

After only two runs in their last game, Laguna Creek made sure to put some runs up on the board against Nevada Union on Monday. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Miners. The Cardinals not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th (when they won 14-0).

Nikiya Jumpingbull tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Laguna Creek let Jazmine Johnson and Mia Gonzalez run wild. Johnson went 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs Johnson has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kate Saxton, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Laguna Creek's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Nevada Union, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-15-1.

Looking ahead, Laguna Creek will head out to challenge Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Nevada Union, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Twelve Bridges at 4:00 p.m.
