Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Rocky River

Rocky River had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took down the Garinger Wildcats 38-19. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 79-41 back in January.

Rocky River's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Camille Montgomery led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with nine points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Montgomery has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was MaKenzie Michael, who scored eight points along with 18 boards and three blocks.

Rocky River smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 32 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 13 consecutive matchups.

Rocky River's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Garinger, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season.
