Softball Recap: Brazos Wins Going Away Against Boling

Brazos won the last time they faced Boling and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cougars put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 11-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Ava Aguilar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sophia Duran was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amie Vasquez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Brazos' record is now 8-15-1. As for Boling, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Coming up, Brazos will host Van Vleck at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Leopards have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Boling, they will head out on the road to take on Hempstead at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.58 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
