Baseball Recap: Brownfield Comes Up Short

Brownfield and Shallowater squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Brownfield had to settle for second. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 2-0 to the Mustangs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Cubs, who fell 2-0 when the teams last met on Thursday.

Brownfield's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Shallowater, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-7 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Shallowater beat Brownfield by a score of 2-0 later that day.
