Volleyball Recap: Ponca Takes a Loss

Ponca was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Dakota Valley Panthers. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Panthers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-20, 25-17.

Ponca's offense was headlined by Adie Nelson and Jaeda Templeman, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Elsie Keller and her 18 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Ponca's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Dakota Valley, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ponca will welcome South Sioux City at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dakota Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Dell Rapids at 7:00 p.m.
