Volleyball Game Preview: Summit Shasta Black Bears vs. Pacific Bay Christian Eagles

Summit Shasta has gone a perfect 10-0 against Pacific Bay Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Black Bears will host the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Summit Shasta has nine straight wins, Pacific Bay Christian has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Summit Shasta made easy work of University Prep Academy and carried off a 3-0 victory.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Summit Shasta was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-6, 25-12.

Summit Shasta got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ysabelle Galvez out in front who had five digs and two aces. Galvez is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Pacific Bay Christian lost 3-0 to The Nueva School on Tuesday.

While Pacific Bay Christian was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into The Nueva School's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18, 25-20.

Pacific Bay Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Summit Shasta, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5.

Everything went Summit Shasta's way against Pacific Bay Christian in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as Summit Shasta made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Black Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
