John Paul II Catholic came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Epiphany, but Thomas Lathan wouldn't allow it. The Falcons narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Saints 44-41 for which the team can thank Lathan, who shot 65% from the field to rack up 23 points and six boards. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points.

Cole Furniss was another key player, putting up 13 points. Furniss is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

John Paul II Catholic's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was King Williams, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Gabe Lewis, who scored ten points.

The win was the third in a row for Epiphany, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Epiphany will host Wilmington Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for John Paul II Catholic, they are taking a road trip to take on Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
