Volleyball Recap: St. Brendan Takes a Loss

St. Brendan entered their contest against Downtown Doral on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Sabres fell 3-1 to the Dolphins. The Sabres were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dolphins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15, 18-25, 25-20.

Downtown Doral's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samira Persad, who had ten digs, eight kills, three aces, and one block. Persad has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last six times she's played. Luna Janania was another key player, getting 13 kills and eight digs.

St. Brendan now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Downtown Doral, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Brendan will venture away from home to challenge Don Soffer Aventura at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Downtown Doral, they will head out to face off against Doral Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
