Softball Recap: Phoenix Comes Up Short

Phoenix managed to slip by Henley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pirates came up short against the Hornets on Saturday, falling 13-5. That makes it the first time this season the Pirates have let down their home crowd.

Carsyn Sousa made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-4.

Phoenix's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Henley, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Phoenix will welcome Mazama at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Henley, they will head out to square off against Klamath Union at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hornets are facing the Pelicans at the right time seeing as the Pelicans are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
