Baseball Game Preview: Summerville Green Wave vs. West Ashley Wildcats

For the second straight game, Summerville will face off against West Ashley. The Green Wave will welcome the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Summerville's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so West Ashley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Wednesday, Summerville didn't have quite enough to beat West Ashley and fell 4-3.

For West Ashley's part, Wells Hostetler looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Hostetler also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Wildcats are undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-14 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aiden Prioleau, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Tyler Burnette was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

West Ashley's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-14. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Summerville, their loss dropped their record down to 16-6.
