Softball Recap: Caney Creek Panthers vs. King Brahmas
Caney Creek's tournament run continued when they took on King on Thursday. The Caney Creek Panthers skirted past the King Brahmas 4-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.
Avery Castaneda was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in February of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Caney Creek's record now sits at 2-7. As for King, they moved to 7-8 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.
