League recap: Otis extends winning streak with victory over Briggsdale

A-6 Central (6 Man) recap October 29, 2013

Adding to the longest winning streak in A-6 Central (6 Man) this week, Otis beat Briggsdale 46-41. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Bulldogs.

Bethune lost to Prairie 50-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Brynnan mcCall made the biggest impact on defense this week as Otis defeated the Falcons. The 6-foot-1 senior racked up 1 sack.

Alex Nelson was a beast in the backfield as Hi-Plains defeated Fleming.

Nelson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Patriots beat the Wildcats. He completed 4 passes for 97 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 275 yards.

Clay Cordell and Nelson gave Hi-Plains a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Cordell threw for 59 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Nelson ran for 275 yards. Cordell also contributed to the rushing game with 102 yards on the ground.

Dave Sheffield's team's Logan Henry and Nelson led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Henry has thrown for 588 yards this season, while Nelson has 15 catches for 295 yards. Paul Griese's team's Eli Palser leads the league in rushing yards with 1,684.

The Patriots led the league in scoring this week by notching 65 points on Fleming. Nelson caught 3 passes for 39 yards in the win.
