Baseball Recap: Laurel HomeSchool Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jackson HomeSchool, Laurel HomeSchool was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Lamar Christian Lions by a score of 11-6. Considering the Knighthawks' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Tyler Mcree was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Brantlee Anderson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Laurel HomeSchool's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Lamar Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

Laurel HomeSchool will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hattiesburg HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on the 13th. As for Lamar Christian, they will welcome Pontchartrain Christian HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Paladins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.11 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
