It's playoff time, and Brighton had no trouble coming through when it counted. They breezed past the Hunter Wolverines to the tune of 62-29 on Wednesday. 62 seems to be a good number for the Bengals as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Brighton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josh Mawhinney led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Mawhinney also posted four steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Soto, who had 18 points and six boards.

The win made it two in a row for Brighton and bumps their season record up to 14-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points over those games. As for Hunter, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Looking ahead, Brighton will venture away from home to challenge Juan Diego Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Juan Diego Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64 points per game this season. Hunter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
