Baseball Game Preview: Gibson County Pioneers vs. Tipton Christian Academy Eagles

The Gibson County Pioneers will take on the Tipton Christian Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gibson County will be strutting in after a victory while Tipton Christian Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Gibson County turned things around against Ripley on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 9-3 win. Considering the Pioneers have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gibson County's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Myles Halford, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave Halford a new career-high. Another was Brayden Fisher, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Tipton Christian Academy fell victim to White Station and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 13-0. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Tipton Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Gibson County, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Everything went Gibson County's way against Tipton Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in March, as Gibson County made off with an 11-1 win. Will the Pioneers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
