Baseball Recap: The Classical Academy Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask The Classical Academy). They blew past the Sierra Stallions 25-1 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won 11 games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Zack Hale was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hale was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Thomas, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was David St Marie, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

The Classical Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

The Classical Academy's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Sierra, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Classical Academy will host Discovery Canyon at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sierra, they will square off against Sand Creek at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
