It was a good run, but Tri-Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans by a score of 44-42. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Vikings came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Spartans are ranked 216th).

Tri-Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for St. Joseph-Ogden, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Tri-Valley will welcome Tolono Unity at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for St. Joseph-Ogden, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Williamsville at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
