Baseball Recap: Eagleville's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After a string of five wins, Eagleville's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spring Hill Raiders. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 13-3.

Marshall Spann and Brady Burns did some serious damage despite the final result: Spann went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Burns went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Karsyn Knowles, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple.

Eagleville's loss dropped their record down to 19-5. As for Spring Hill, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eagleville will face off against Forrest at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The last four games the Rockets have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Spring Hill, they will square off against Summertown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
