Softball Recap: Wilson Comes Up Short

Wilson extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 23-19 in the process. They came up short against the Crockett County Cavaliers, falling 9-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered since April 8th.

As for Crockett County, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That lines up perfectly with their 21-7 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 games by six runs or more this season.

For Crockett County's part, they got a great performance from Emmalynn Medlin as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Medlin has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Madison Solis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Wesley Thornton was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Wilson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Colbert County on the 19th. As for Crockett County, they have also already played their next match, a 9-0 win against Waterloo on the 19th.
