Basketball Recap: Rainier Extends Winning Streak to Five

Rainier had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They put the hurt on the Riverside Pirates with a sharp 40-14 win. The Columbians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 26 points or more this season.

Rainier's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-5.

Rainier will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. Helens at 6:00 p.m. As for Riverside, they will head out on the road to challenge Catlin Gabel at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
