Basketball Game Preview: McArthur Mustangs vs. Hallandale Chargers

The McArthur Mustangs just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Hallandale Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hallandale took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on McArthur, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, McArthur was fully in charge, breezing past Boyd Anderson 51-23. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 28 points or more this season.

McArthur got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Christiana Casseus out in front who went 6 for 13 on her way to 16 points in addition to six boards and six blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Christie Chicoye, who posted 15 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Hallandale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Schoolhouse Prep and fell 70-17.

Hallandale's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for McArthur, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Everything came up roses for McArthur against Hallandale in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, as the team secured a 69-10 win. Will McArthur repeat their success, or does Hallandale have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
