Preview: Powdersville Patriots vs. Riverside Warriors

The Powdersville Patriots will square off against the Riverside Warriors at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Powdersville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 18 matchups -- so hopefully Riverside likes a good challenge.

Powdersville can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They breezed by Southside at home to the tune of 71-42. Given Powdersville's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Southside is ranked 174th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hayden Assemian continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with nine rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Sweet, who scored 12 points.

Meanwhile, Riverside had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three last Friday. They came out on top against Laurens by a score of 50-42.

Powdersville is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Riverside, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3.
