Basketball Recap: Wabaunsee Comes Up Short

If Wabaunsee was feeling good fresh off their 48-19 takedown of Mission Valley last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wabaunsee Chargers took a 32-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mission Valley Vikings. The Chargers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 48-19.

Mission Valley's win on Monday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kyplee Jacobson, who posted eight points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Adaline Bloomfield, who had three points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Wabaunsee's loss dropped their record down to 4-3-1. As for Mission Valley, they moved to 5-5 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wabaunsee will be taking part in a tournament against Chapman at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mission Valley, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Santa Fe Trail on January 31st.
