Basketball Recap: Chapin Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lexington last Tuesday, Chapin came back down to earth. The Chapin Eagles were outmatched by the River Bluff Gators and fell 73-44. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Gators: they've now lost nine in a row.

It was another big night for Yasir Cromer, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten assists for River Bluff. Those ten assists gave Cromer a new career-high. Jacob Smoak also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Chapin's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for River Bluff, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Chapin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-38 defeat against White Knoll on the 25th. River Bluff has also already played their next match, a 64-32 victory against Lexington on the 24th.
