Basketball Recap: Valley Forge Takes a Loss

Valley Forge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rocky River Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 62-41 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.

Leading Rocky River to victory were Michael Swallow and Jacob Radcliffe. Swallow dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Radcliffe shot 4-for-7 from long range and almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Swallow a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Nazette, who posted five points and six steals.

Valley Forge's record is now 0-3. As for Rocky River, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Valley Forge will square off against Normandy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rocky River, they will take on Westlake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
