Basketball Recap: Prospect Ridge Academy Finds Playoff Glory Versus Delta

With a playoff win on the line, Prospect Ridge Academy rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Delta Panthers by a score of 69-60. Given the Miners' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Panthers are ranked 168th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Josiah Bote was a one-man wrecking crew for Prospect Ridge Academy as he went 6-for-14 en route to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Bote a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Liam Schilling, who posted 11 points and five steals.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Erik Baier, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Rhett Miramontes was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Prospect Ridge Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for Delta and nudges their season record down to 11-13.

Prospect Ridge Academy has already played their next matchup, a 63-40 win against The Classical Academy on the 8th. Delta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
