Basketball Recap: Bethel Takes a Loss

Bethel lost against Olympia back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bethel Bison were beaten by the Olympia Bears 74-34. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Bears are ranked 37th).

Bethel's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Olympia, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethel will square off against Spanaway Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Spanaway Lake's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Olympia, they will challenge Yelm at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Olympia has six straight wins, Yelm has 17 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
