Basketball Recap: West Marion Trojans vs. Purvis Tornadoes

West Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Purvis Tornadoes. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Trojans have suffered since November 12th.

Purvis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zoey Robinson led the charge by putting up eight points in addition to 18 rebounds and eight blocks. Robinson is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Noa Bolar, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.

West Marion's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Purvis, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-6.

West Marion will take on East Marion in a tournament on Friday. West Marion is facing East Marion at the right time seeing as East Marion is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Purvis, they will welcome Mize at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
