Softball Recap: McGuffey Highlanders vs. Mapletown Maples

McGuffey can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They blew past the Mapletown Maples 20-2. While fans of McGuffey might be used to big wins, the 18-run margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.

Katie Grimm made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits (she also only allowed one walk). Grimm was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI.

In other batting news, McGuffey got a massive performance out of Mackenzie Shrader, who went 2-for-2 with a home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Dobrzynski, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for McGuffey and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Mapletown, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

McGuffey will head out on the road to challenge Bethlehem Center at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mapletown, they will be playing at home against Avella at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Avella will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Mapletown surely won't give up without a fight.
