Basketball Recap: Idea Falls Despite Big Games from Sidy Koite and Tobias Hammett

Idea was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 68-48 to the KIPP DC Legacy College Prep Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-48 back in December of 2024.

Idea's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Tobias Hammett, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards, and Sidy Koite, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Those 14 rebounds gave Hammett a new career-high. Kaidyn Lewis was another key player, putting up six points.

Idea's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for KIPP DC Legacy College Prep, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

When Idea and KIPP DC Legacy College Prep next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Idea will face off against SEED DC and their three-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, KIPP DC Legacy College Prep will try to stop E.L. Haynes' five-game winning streak when the meet at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
