Softball Preview: East Hartford Hornets vs. South Windsor Bobcats

East Hartford is 0-10 against South Windsor since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The East Hartford Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the South Windsor Bobcats at 3:45 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

East Hartford will bounce into Monday's game after beating Lewis Mills, who they hadn't topped in three consecutive meetings. East Hartford narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Lewis Mills 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for East Hartford.

Izzy Brito spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Taylor Nisyrios was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

East Hartford's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for South Windsor, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
