Baseball Recap: Teaneck Starts off Right with Win over Tenafly

Teaneck gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They blew past the Tenafly Tigers 10-0. The Highwaymen haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Jack Daniels made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Daniels was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Teaneck let Franjey Martinez and Jayden Castro run wild. Martinez scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Castro scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Alexis Delgado, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Tenafly's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Teaneck will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
