Nobody could stop Alayna Phillips on Friday as she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off four hits. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was her fourth in a row with more than five strikeouts. This year, she has been strong no matter where she plays. On the mound, she has an ERA of 3.43 over 51 innings pitched. Meanwhile, at bat she has slashed 0.583/0.750/1.125 with 19 runs and just as many RBI, plus 16 stolen bases.

Coming up, Phillips and Desert will challenge Kern Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
