Baseball Recap: Ignacio Has No Trouble Against Dolores

Ignacio hadn't done well against Dolores recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 10-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Gabe A made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). A was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Ambrose V was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Ignacio is undefeated when V posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Joesph A, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Ignacio was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .393 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Ignacio's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Dolores, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ignacio will head out to challenge Nucla at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Dolores, they will head out on the road to take on Dove Creek at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
